Hospital Services
Preventative Health Care
The doctors and staff at Pearland Pet Health Center know how important your pet is to you. Our goal is to provide the best quality and compassionate care. We believe that with regular visits, we can lengthen the life of your pet through early disease detection and treatment.
We have the capability to perform in-house x-rays, ultrasounds and electrocardiographs. We also have a full in-house diagnostics lab to receive quick and accurate results as well as a well stocked pharmacy, heartworm preventatives, flea/tick preventatives, shampoos, Hill’s prescription diet food, HomeAgain microchips and dental maintenance products.
Vaccinations
Vaccinations are an important part of life for your pet. We provide routine vaccinations without “over-vaccinating” your pet. Through open communication with you, we will determine the best protocol to properly ensure the safety of your pet from life-threatening diseases.
Surgery
Our doctors are highly qualified to perform all aspects of surgery from a routine spay or neuter to repairing a torn ACL. Each pet is treated with compassionate care before and after the surgery. All pets are administered pre- and post- anesthetic pain medication. For 99 percent of surgeries, the pet is intubated, electronically monitored and personally monitored by a specified technician.
Dentistry
Dental disease is one of the most preventable yet disregarded diseases in pets. Studies show that 80 percent of dogs and cats show signs of oral disease by age three. If left untreated, bacteria from the mouth can enter the bloodstream and damage your pet’s liver, kidneys, lungs and heart. With regular checkups and maintenance, we can help prevent this common disease. Pearland Pet Health Center offers complete dental cleanings, dental x-rays, tooth extractions and preventative products for the well being of your pet’s oral health care needs.
Avian/Exotics Medicine
We not only treat dogs and cats, but also see rabbits, ferrets, birds, reptiles, rats, guinea pigs, hamsters and turtles. Dr. May has been active in treating the rabbits from Bunny Buddies, a rabbit rescue organization, since 1996 when the organization was founded.
Boarding/Bathing/Grooming
You can trust us to take care of your pet while you are out of town. Pets are taken out two to three times per day, and we follow your feeding instructions. Our runs are all inside with an outdoor play area so they can do their business. We can administer medications, give insulin, and all pets are observed by the veterinarians.
We do require that all dogs be bathed at owner’s cost on the day of departure; therefore, pick-up times are between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturdays. We do not have Sunday pick-up. For the safety of all pets being boarded or groomed, dogs must be current on Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella (within the six months) and Fecal (within the last six months). Cats must be current on Rabies and FVRCP.
Euthanasia/Cremation Services
Losing someone special to you is a difficult ordeal, especially if it is your beloved four-legged companion. We realize this and want to make the situation as stress-free as possible. When the quality of life is compromised, we will assist you in making the best decision for you and your pet.
Should you decide to say goodbye, we will treat your pet with compassion and reverence. We do offer general and private cremation services. Should you choose a private cremation, the ashes of your pet will be returned in a black or white ceramic urn. We only use the most trustworthy crematorium. We are here to take care of your pet from the moment it is born until the moment it leaves your side.
